Understanding AI: An Honest Look at 5 Chatbots for AEC Professionals

Hey RevitGods,

There’s a lot of talk about AI in architecture, so we’re launching a newsletter series called Understanding AI, where we’ll discuss emerging AI technologies, the ethics of AI in architecture, real-world applications, and how they can actually support your work.

Today, we’re focusing on AI chatbots, conversational AI tools you interact with through text.

According to a recent study conducted by the AIA, 6% of practitioners have incorporated AI into their regular workflow. Many use AI technology to tackle “low-invasive” tasks, like recording meeting minutes, writing proposals, and drafting marketing descriptions. The study also reveals that 79% of respondents use chatbots.

Last week, we hosted a conversation with Marcial Velez from Xperteks and Richard Davies from MMP&S on how firms can govern AI responsibly. Here are a few of the biggest takeaways: Before committing to enterprise-wide AI use, investigate which models your tools rely on, where your data is being processed, and whether those tools are truly enterprise-ready. If your team is already experimenting with AI, gain visibility into what they're using. Identify the tools in use, classify your data, and...

In this session, you will gain: Clarity on whether it is safe to put project and client data into AI tools An understanding of who owns AI-generated content and how intellectual property is affected Practical guidance on how to...

Should we upgrade to the latest version of Revit?

February 2026 This year, you should seriously consider it. This is the most common question we get, and most years we typically recommend waiting until early bugs are resolved and stability improves. New releases often introduce performance issues that can disrupt active projects. This year is different. Revit 2025 and 2026 not only address long-standing pain points in sheet management and drawing production, but they are also faster and more stable than recent releases. Many past performance...
